Ok, so this camaro is being sold locally and the guy is saying he is FIRM at $3,000.00 WITHOUT THE WHEELS, which I told him I wasn't interested in. Im actually planning on putting on my polished aluminums from my 2010 ss.

It has a 350 with a cam in it and he claims 50,000 miles on motor and trans, not sure how many on the body. He said he has a new red top coming in for it since the current one needs replacing. It is an auto tans.

So Is it worth paying 3 grand for this car without the wheels?

These cars have pretty much hit their bottom, and they will start appreciating if they are clean and/or restored. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but if it's as clean as it appears, I don't think $3000 would be out of line if it's mechanically perfect.

$2,000 and ditch the rims.

As cheap as you can get it. Lots of rattles and leaky top issues. But still a good play toy. Friend of mine had one and had frame issues

around here that would be a 5K car easy for 3K it's gonna need paint, interior and have well over 100K miles

I stopped reading after you said you were going to put your '10 SS rims on it.

Keep in mind that this not a factory convertible and that third gens have structural issues already-----with the roof cut off it will really have issues. Hopefully shop that did added subframe connectors and other strengthing parts, but probably not.

Ive seen this car before. I think it was really butchacked and the floor and frame were rotted to hell. Maybe 2010 or 11 I saw it.

This.

3rd gen verts first came available in 1987. If you ever see a vert prior to 87 it was either custom made, converted or has a swapped VIN plate.

Id look very closely at the frame/floor of this car.
