generally a failed injector will throw a specific cylinder code, ie p0301/p050d. if you dont have a scan tool that will read live data to show you which cylinder is misfiring, do a compression test...

Can you log data on your own? If so I would monitor the cam actuator and see what variance there is. While you're at it, monitor TCC slip.
