Most cars today are electronically governed due to the speed limitations of the factory installed tires they come with. People tend to forget, with all the money a car costs and everything involved on and in a car, the only thing that actually touches the ground are the tires..... That's always taken into consideration when engineers are devloping drivetrain and suspension components: the grade and size of the tires. Even the SS, I presume most of the cars built will come with all season rubber V rated (V is rated safely for speeds up to 149 mph). The summer only tire package? They might be Z's, but those are pretty expensive, so they may still stick with V for the summer only tire option.
You remove the governor and you DEFINITELY need to get a set of Z rated tires. This car will have huge potential to hit the 170 mark.
And better, larger diameter brakes (yes, I know the stock Brembos will be great, but you have to remember they're engineered to stop the car safely and reliably from no greater a speed than 155 - you'd think they'd be good to 180, but these are factory installed brakes and this is not a Ferrari).
And maybe lighter weight rims.
And stiffer struts and springs.
