I pay$120/month in arizona for full coverage on my 04 dodge ram ($65 & $500 deductible) AND my wifes 05 toyota tacoma ($55 & $250 deductible).
They key is discounts, I have multi car discount, multi policy discount(state farm insures my house as well as my cars), both me and my wife are over 25, neither have tickets or accidents (knock on wood). I qualify for good student (college) but since I get so much of a discount right now anyway they wont let me use it.
Just for reference I looked into getting a CBR 600 as a commuter and my quote was $23.00 a month for full coverage insurance.
PS - From what I've heard NY is one of the worst states to get insured in, as in really expensive...
