Second: Why rival a car that's built by the same company - the vette needs to stay around...It's the Icon that all Domestic cars strive to become...and all the foriegn cars should fear!...Ah heh,

What I meant was: the Camaro is being marketed at a totally diferent group ergo: no direct Vette competition. It's not a luxury car (as also stated in the 'hard evidence' video linked to above) it's a sport Coupe, a lower class - so to speak, but totally different.
BTW: I believe the SSR was also a limited-time, limited-production model...not 100,000-150,000 car/truck things a year...oh, and it is kinda ugly.
