Your going to want 4 jackstands. Can't go wrong buying jackstands, you will have uses for them the rest of your life. Some of the ones in my garage are over 30 years old.
Do the stuff on top, while the car is low. Then get it up high on jackstands. Keeping it level is much better, so 4.
Then, what I do when working on tall jackstands is put the ramps back under the front tires just in case. I also leave the floor jack under the crossmember with just a hair of weight on it. The weight will be on the jackstands but you've got the jack under there and the ramps, just in case.
I go way over board on safety when under my cars in the driveway, but haven't squished myself yet. And I can work by myself at my own pace without worry.
