No one is going to go trade their SS for a Mustang unless they really care about being beaten in a HP war and then good riddance because they aren't true camaro fans anyway, they just want to stand around with the other boys and say "ha ha mine's bigger".

Good point. There's a reason most Mustang fans didn't switch to Camaro last year after the GT was outclassed: they are Mustangs fans and will always be Mustang fans. Camaro fans will always be Camaro fans. GM and Ford will always strike back at each other. So far the result is that we can drive bone stock cars that cost less than $40K that get to 60 mph in less 5 seconds and the 1/4 mile in less than 13 seconds.
The same thing has happened between GM and Dodge with the Corvettes and Vipers. Because of the performance war between these two companies you can go buy an exotic car killer for less $100K (Z06 or SRT10 Coupe) or for just a little more buy one of the fastest cars in the world (ZR1 or Viper ACR).
