I did it however with stock shifter and a few times with the new MGW on this car.
STS and TCS off (TC button down for 7 seconds). Leave pedal on the floor and just work the clutch and shifter, fast is necessary to keep it off the limiter. Definitely not recommended unless you are VERY confident with shifting fast and precise.
In my 99 SS I used to do that the last couple runs of the night to try and set a best time. I haven't had an issue in the 2010. This TR6060 is a SMOOTH shifting transmission compared to the T56!
