If you are involved in an accident where your insurance has to pay money to fix up your car or the other person's, your rates will go up. You have to have accident forgiveness with one of the insurance companies to avoid that, however if you switch to a different company, they will see the payoff and raise your rates accordingly. The worst part is the total cost of the bill to fix the Camaro will be re-gained by the insurance company in so many years by the person not at fault if they stay with the same insurance company. It stinks, but that is how the insurance companies are able to survive and make a profit.
the other person is at fault, so thier insurance should cover this.
