I _am_ assuming this is GEN V hardware on display, just not announced as such. What IS true is that they HAVE shown a 6.2L engine making well north of 450hp in a current vehicle, using existing (and presumable reliable) hardware... this is a good sign all by itself.

Oh, no. I meant about the "LS3" being used for the prototype...I read back thinking WTF? but, yeah - it's gen V, and they've as good as announced it as such, too. "If it happens we'll have to release it as a whole new generation achetecture."

I don't know if this is a response to what I said - but it
could smaller. What they're saying is that with this new Gen V design - the DI naturally makes more power - so to get the same power that you get out of, say the LS3, then you would need a smaller-than-LS3 engine...you see what I'm saying? Smaller is actually better in this day - especially if you can coax more power than before - because smaller generally means better fuel economy.
