I'm not so sure it's that, as much as to be able to differenciate the hp from the torque... for stupid people
How many of your average buyers know that Torque is what actually moves your car, and that hp is how 'fast' (so-to-speak) you can do that...
no, advertisements just say: "this much hp, 5 more than our competitors!" (which btw, also for stupid people, 5hp more...damn that alone sells me:eek
. Add that to the fact that car-power-illiterate people wouldn't be able to differenciate between the hp, or torque curves, I think that's why they do it...
