Well I know a little history on the word. Its way out dated like some things in our culture, but here it is.
The muscle cars of the late 60s and early 70s were called a muscle car if the car came equipped with the larger engine. The cars with the smaller engine choice were termed "secretary" cars because the man (boss, guy in charge, whatever) would have the "manly beefy" engine while his secretary would drive the "weaker slower" car. Its chauvinistic at best but interesting still.
Back to the topic, I dont know why people (Im looking at MikeSS) do hate on the V6. I was actually highly considering buying one before I got my SS. It is a great car. It has EVERYTHING to offer that an SS does with exception of the power. The V6 is still a powerful and fast car, so why does it even matter? It personal prefference. Not everyone buys this car to drag race it. I remember someone hating on the V6 once posted they "only care about performance and think this car should be all about racing blah blah blah" then begin to bash one of the V6 owners. Its juvenile at best and even more tis disrespectful. Whenever you bash someone for driving the V6 you basically are saying to them that they have poor judgement because they bought an inferior car. Which is very untrue. I'm sure if you meet the V6 driver they would be perfectly cool and easy to get along with... and they drive the same car as you! Don't split hairs and say "Oh well its not the same, mine is an SS..." its still a camaro to the rest of the world.
