What is up with people hating on the V6?

Reminds me of when we use to have emission checks here in Ohio, i had a 91 supra, the guy puts the front wheels on the roller thing and Im like hold on man, its rear wheel drive, he says, are you sure? Im like yes, Im sure, it don't tell you that on your computer?

But no, he was just another car enthusiast appreciating someone else's car. That's the kind of people we need out there.

BUT, see, I wonder though, what his reaction would have been had you been in his face with 50 of your V6 buddies proclaiming your V6 Camaro is so great, and you didn't get a V8 because of insurance, gas, don't need the power, etc. etc. and your 3700 pound 260rwhp Camaro is a musclecar just like his. just sayin....
I run into "young men" at gas stations all the time, in their ricers, etc. etc and I give them positive comments...heck, perhaps that is all they could afford and they are making the most/best of it....just don't be a hyprocrite and all is well with me, that's all.

give it a rest already. Why are you so damned insecure that some V6 owners are proud of their car? In this economic climate, we 5th Gen owners should all be happy for the fact we could buy (or hopefully buy and not have to sell off) a new Camaro.

And most of us have all owned faster cars than both a V6 & V8 Camaro. So what??

And the dude in the Audi could just as easily laughed off a SS too. He had class. I guess that costs money too LOL

First off I don't travel with 50 V6 buddies going around nagging people about how great a V6 Camaro is. I do, however, take a lot of nagging from other people saying its not a SS and all, but these are just jealous guys who drive a scion or something like that. I didn't get a V8 because my parents didn't buy me it, they thought it was too fast I'm only 19 and there is no way I could buy an SS. His car isn't a musclecar, its an Audi and he was being nice, just like esper said he could have hated on SS owners if he felt like it. I couldn't be happier with my car no matter what anybody says, I just don't understand why people MUST feed their ego by hating on the V6 if they have an SS or faster car, I actually understand the jealous ones.

I love my V6 2011 summit white Camaro with the RS package and beige leather interior! I would love to have a V-8 simply because of that V-8 rumble and to be able to walk around and say that I have an "SS". A V8 Camaro was out of my price range but maybe if I was a little older and actually had a better job than I do now then I'd probably go with the V8. I'm still very happy with my V6 since the car just looks damn good, has leather interior, (I hate cloth seats and a cheap plastic steering wheel) NAV, XM, HUD, a gazillion aftermarket parts, and is just a blast to drive. This is by far the best car that I have ever owned (I'm only 28) and it fulfills all of my needs. I could care less what other people think of it since it makes me happy and I just generally could care less about other peoples opinions since I don't live my life walking around on egg shells trying to please everyone.

I belong to a 5th Gen Camaro club and all these guys are cool as hell. Some drive V8's and some drive V6's and after 4 or 5 meets, I have never heard any of them say you should have got a V8 or why did you get a V6. It don't matter, WE ALL DRIVE A BAD_ASSED CAMARO. Just saying...........

Be happy with what you have. You didn't buy your car to please others. You bought it because it's what you wanted. The V6 is no slouch and the V6 RS looks a helluva lot like the SS RS. You basically get the same appearance just not as much on the performance side. The average person isn't going to care...they are going to see your car and say wow, that's one badass ride!!!

in comparison they both make about 50 hp per cylinder. i bought a 2011 1lt a6 after 2 months i traded it back in for a 2010 1ss m6. just because i plan on keeping it for a long time and passing down to my son or daughter. pass history shows v8 ss cars are more sought after then v6 cars. i've owned atleast 10 camaros in my lifetime and the 2011 1lt a6 had more hp then any of the stock z28S FROM THE LATE 70'S EARLY eighties or early ninties. i think the gen 5 v6 is still a great car
