It is true that the V6 auto-tranny is a couple hundred dollars more expensive. The only reason I can think of as to why...would be that the Aisin manual unit in the V6 is cheaper than the Tremec manual in the SSs. Since the automatics are almost identical (the SS's is just beefier), this higher price would reflect that difference.
