The difference is pretty much negligible.
But, bear in mind that the S2000 costs more money than the camaro SS and has 200 less horsepower out of a L4 (which is naturally much lighter than either a V6 or a V8). Honda also used all aluminum body panels on the S2000 - something that would greatly increase the cost of the Camaro.
And again, the S2000 costs about 4,000 more starting than the Camaro does.

P.S. - Honestly, I think the Camaro is pretty light for what it offers and its price range. There's a reason why the 4th gen weighed 3,500 lbs, but most of the people I know who race them have a race weight closer to 3,800 - 3,900.
