WELCOME!

Second - if your brand new, and haven't been lurking, make sure you check out the Stickies with the spyshots and videos

There's lots of drool material there

I'll be shocked to see it under $50k

Not that I'd even try to argue with a 'Vette guru the likes of any of your crew, but, there was a pretty significant improvement in the handling of Z06 with the PS2s from ZR1 - yes? If we're talking a standard Z06 on the OEM F1s, and if Z28 came with PS2s (which I haven't noticed in ANY spy shots

), then I think there's a good case for Z28 to at least be
VERY close to Z06. They would have to have had tuned the sh*t out of the chassis and bumped the power a lot though

Now - I'm not trying to nitpick, but I think Z28 has the potential to be faster around a road course, which was what I was thinking regarding the marketer's statements. Look at the new 911 - it flat spanked ZR1 in a straight line, but ZR1 stomped the sh*t out of it around the track (?Willow - was it?...?). Some of those 60's are a little questionable from that list on the F1s, but I wasn't there, so

I don't see Z28 being less than $49,870. With S/C, Upgrade to engine, brakes, trany, gears, tiers, clutch, cooling system, suspension and etc. Heck, the CTS-V, configured runs around $70K.

BUT, that CTS-V has all the iminities that you find on the Berbarian and luxury cars, so some of that technology accounts for some of that price, too, no? Also - CTS-V runs on a more exclusive chassis - yes? But I digress, because I'm totally in the same page in terms of Z and on your price

Nissan GTR Ring Time: 7:26.70 with 530bhp (and two cyls less)

If a Jap can keep up with a ZR1, why wouldn't a Z28 be able to beat a Z06 (which is supposed to be a slower car than the ZR1)?

^^^ This

That AWD is helping a lot, too. I believe I remember one of the chief engineers on 'Vette saying there was a little more to be had, too. Also - wasn't that test on the GTR a little suspect, too, due to the way they timed it or something; it was unofficial or something like that? Maybe that was another test I'm thinking of...

I love the idea of the z28 but we all know just throwing hp at a heavy car is not going to make it a competetor against what ii consider americas supercar. Look at the gt500. I love the car but it can hardly hang with a regular corvette out of the box because of it power to weight ratio.

I really don't think there's going to be any significant upgrades on C6. With C7 on the way, I really don't know that they'd have started investing in more development on a detuned LS9 for Z06. I don't know, though, because I haven't been following - honestly. It's all speculation
