Looks like I am definately trading up.
For those talking about competing with Vette sales. Right now GM is about making money. They make less from selling a Corvette than from selling a Camaro. Corvette sales are already low as they are. The current C6 is on it's way out so there will more than likely be a Corvette response within a year or two of the Z28 release. |

The 2011 verts list for $47K, so just under $50 sounds more likely $49,999.99 ![]() As far as Camaro competing with Vette sales, the Z-06 sales were almost non existent the last 2 years (about 1,100). You'd think the Z-28 could replace that niche market (Z-06) at a $50K price tag and sell more than 550 a year....you'd think

I think duplicating that car under that price is probably going to not happen, but Z28 GM will be investing in total powertrain and chassis upgrades, which that car doesn't totally have. OEM TR6060, rear axle, etc. I'm sure we'd see a CTS-V-spec TR6060/6L90 and upgraded axles, diff', cooling systems, the lot.If that car can do it, I'm sure Z28 could - I don't know about at that price, though I hope I'm wrong ![]() ![]() ![]()

Sounds unbelievable, but if GM can pull off a Z-28 thats faster on a road course than a C6 Z06 WOW. Talk about the Z-28 all of a sudden being a huge deal and something exciting enough for me to register on the forum!

Given it is close to the same HP/weight as the CTSV coupe....it isn't going to be as fast as a Z06...might be close to a GS, but not the Z06 or ZR1. I'll be shocked to see it under $50k |

There's no way. The Z06 Vette will have a 600+ lbs weight advantage with huge rubber on all 4 corners. A skilled driver in a Z06 Vette "should" have no trouble beating a Camaro Z28 around a track.

If it is, I'm betting it's $49,995.95 base price.

No pricing has been announced. So, the $45K comment is out the door.
I don't see Z28 being less than $49,870. With S/C, Upgrade to engine, brakes, trany, gears, tiers, clutch, cooling system, suspension and etc. Heck, the CTS-V, configured runs around $70K. |
