I'd like this number too, even though it'd be pretty tough to afford it. I think it'd be nice to be able to get this car without so much of the 2SS content, but I think they'd probably try to lump that stuff as standard equipment on a future Z28. I don't really need/want most of that except the leather, but that's just me. I'm thinking it'll get closer to $50K... Especially if GM decides to go with the mag' shocks and huge breaks. It'd be nice to have those as options for people who don't want to spend the kind of money I'm sure it would cost to have those on this car, but I don't personally think the models GM's announced now are that way (I mean that you have to buy packages, opposed to a la carte), so I have no reason to thing Z28 would be any different. They do offer a brake upgrade for the CTS-V though, so that could be the case if/when Z28 comes. I might have to give my n*t up after all...

Do you think its pointless to buy a 550 hp Camaro if your not going to race it (legally)?
If a non-collector buys this "Z28" is it smart to keep the miles low to preserve value or should you drive it normally?
I guess my real question is, if one were to buy this, do you buy it to keep it in a garage?

This idea is completely the opposite of the original but why not go head-to-head with what's already on the market? I'm sure you could engineer a Z28 to go around a track faster than a GT500 using the original formula, but I think the GT500 is about bragging about power and brute strength. I'm all about that. There's no arguing this theoretical version is very untraditional, but, I want to bring a gun to a gun fight.
I'm sure a Gen V would be great to have for the car too, but I'm not so sure loosing enough weight to actually make the car an improvement over SS would happen without removing a lot of content from the car. Why make the top dog a stripper model? I don't think that's as appealing as a 550 horse monster. I'm with Muscle' on how much this thing is probably going to weigh, or at least pretty close to what he said. I don't really like that, but I just don't believe the flagship of the Camaro line is going to be a stripper car that tears up the turns. I'm not saying that it shouldn't, per se, but I just think there's more of a market for the 500-fighter. I just hope that it's at a price that a meathead like me can afford it.
As far as the look, I'd take the hood, but I'm not really feeling the front bumper so much. The wheels are a tough call because I can't really see them, but I'd prefer some chrome ZR1s (the new ZR1). As far as a complete car, I submit this (Jinx - you're than man; no question):
