I've got to disagree.

That philosophy has never been in the Camaro's DNA (excluding the COPO cars...). It's always been a relatively affordable car that offered great bang for the buck. After all, Chevy is a 'value brand'. I certainly don't think they'll jack up the price "just because".

The Corvette is and always will be GM's halo performance car. The Camaro's not trying to steal that thunder, just build on it. This isn't a car they're doing "for fun"...no, it's not needed per-say; but it's not free, either. There's a lot of R&D invested in this car. So if the ZL1's to succeed in the market, it will have to compete with the GT500 in price.

I'm sure they could charge $80,000 for it and several hundred people will still buy it. But how will that reflect on the car and/or the team of people behind it?
