Anyone expecting it to be like an DCT automated manual with a shift time of under 100 ms will be disappointed. I expect it to essentially be like the D-3-2 automatics that debuted ages ago. But instead of moving the shifter up through the gears, you hit the paddle shifters. Now, GM might have done a bit of tuning to make the shifts a bit quicker, but it will not be significanytly different from a regular automatic.

The purpose of the tap-shift is not to make shifts faster, its to give you control of an automatic transmission.
