Anyhow, how great is it that we have 3 American made cars that are worthy of attention:

The Challenger R/T for being a great cruiser and wonderful for eating up the miles on long trips with a comfortable big-car feel.

The Mustang GT/track pack which can turn in some damn impressive track performance at a reasonable price.

And the Camaro SS which is an excellent modern interpretation of the sport coupe.

Instead of whipping out a ruler and your epeens, you should be having a beer celebrating that America finally remembered how to do what made it great.

On an ACTUAL twisty ROAD (not a race track), I think many of you are overestimating the difference that any single bit of technology (like an SRA vs IRS) may have. Unless you get off on going fast enough for a reckless endangerment midemeanor with ensuing public service, you simply aren't going to dance away from these other cars on any road. I own a newer Cobalt SS and that car will go fast enough to make you pucker HARD. Any car on this list will go fast enough to scare the bejebus out of you.

Really you should be congratulating all the car lovers out there who have bought cars that are more than just appliances. I love and respect just about every car that is more than an efficiency equation.

Now if you actually do race on road courses, your conversation is no longer academic and I salute you.

And I was just thinking of something else...The G-force measurements....does anybody realize how miniscule a difference .01-.02 G's is? That' 1-2% the force of gravity...sideways. Or 1-2% of your body weight...sideways. For most people, that's about 2-4lbs. So....essentially, when we're bickering about handling and who's better -- and we start throwing around the lat. G numbers (me, too. :(). We're bickering over 2-4 lbs of force...when the total is something like 180 lbs in either car.
