Everything in the ZL1's drivetrain has been upgraded to handle the increased power.

To be honest, I don't know why people upgrade to single-piece driveshafts, I've never looked into it to determine a reason or advantage - I'm sure there is one, though.

I do know that two-piece driveshafts tend to have better harmonics, thus better Noise/Vibration/Harshness from a factory-perspective...this is because there isn't a super-long pole wobbling (producing vibrations) at high rpms underneath the car.
