they could have already had a contract with GM saying that they will get X number of camaros before X date. and if that was signed before 10/13, then they order before any of use had a chance

Yes I am sure you are right.. there were contracts done.. yadda yadda yadda and they signed the deal and GM saw dollar signs... in the end its all good, they need to do that.. GM needed to get the Avis cars out as they needed their money so they could buy more parts to make OUR CAMAROS
(I like looking at it that way)....
Funny thing is.. we are Camaro enthusiasts, we love this car..... and we will forget our sadness and disappointments as soon as we finally get behind the wheel of that car..
we will sit in her and caress the steering wheel, gear shifter, seats, dash and wipe the dew of her hood.. we will forget all the frustrations of getting her and just feel the complete pleasure of driving her and having her in our driveway..
