It would be easy to get the custom taco truck musical "horn" that plays songs like "La Cucaracha"... or maybe just the horn part from "Lowrider"... so I ain't worried 'bout that!

Gold spoked rims... gold tassle hanging up around all the windows... and purple shag covering EVERYTHING.

OH... and a naked Aztec woman laying on a panther skin... painted on the rear fender. And the Virgin Mary on the back window. And maybe a big bull sticker on each door.

A license plate frame that says "My Other Car Has... Lawn Mowers In The Back"

And a window sticker across the back window that says, in OLD ENGLISH, "Hecho En Oshawa, Cañada"

That poor car is going to get beat to death...what a way to start out it's life....

....and the faithful enthusiasts are still sitting here waiting patiently for their cars....and avis is getting these sent to them? Sure doesn't help GM look good in this time. But, who am I to complain. I don't get mine for another two months. I just want everyone else who's been by GM's side to get what they deserve!

You actually were partially correct. The next year after the Shelby GT-H was available at Hertz you could get the Shelby GT package on your standard Mustang GT, which was essentially the same car without the gold striping (it did have stripe packages, I don't recall the colors).

Please tell me why did we preorder and put money down, when everyone and their grandmother are buying showroom cars from their dealers. Now we find out their allready renting them? This is really disapointing. I'm not one of those people that wines about every little thing. Heck we may yet find out the rental thing is BS, but I'm starting to feel GM really droped the ball on this.

And they were kinda the basis for the GT500....The GT-H is the hertz edition. I dont believe that the GT500 was made yet. They were damn expensive to rent to

They were rated at 325 hp...hardly anything worth 100 a day

how do you know that they didnt order before you did?
they could have already had a contract with GM saying that they will get X number of camaros before X date. and if that was signed before 10/13, then they order before any of use had a chance
Or, what if they ordered 10/13, at 8:00 a.m.?

just thought id throw that out there

I searched for Atlanta for the G13 in May no luck I tried for Las Vegas in June and july no luck :(

Because they were supposed to go to individual customers not companies. All this does is push the rest of us back by weeks. To top it off our cars won't be the first on the roads. It's just not right, Just like Dealers have been stringing along customers to get the order in under the name and then jack up the price so they are forced to pay or walk away. From my understanding GM set the ground rules for the preorders, and no one seams to be following them including GM.

Is it just me or is anyone else getting just a little pissed. we have all waiting for our PRE-ORDERED Camaros for ever and they can have a parade with 20 or so SS Camaros and "Now you can rent them thru AVIS" we cant get ours built but it seems everyone else will have them before the true Camaro lovers even get a glimpse of there babies. Yes I am sure you are right.. there were contracts done.. yadda yadda yadda and they signed the deal and GM saw dollar signs... in the end its all good, they need to do that.. GM needed to get the Avis cars out as they needed their money so they could buy more parts to make OUR CAMAROS (I like looking at it that way)....

Funny thing is.. we are Camaro enthusiasts, we love this car..... and we will forget our sadness and disappointments as soon as we finally get behind the wheel of that car..

we will sit in her and caress the steering wheel, gear shifter, seats, dash and wipe the dew of her hood.. we will forget all the frustrations of getting her and just feel the complete pleasure of driving her and having her in our driveway..
