If the rwhp numbers are accurate, the ZL1 engine is almost certainly making more than the advertised hp. I am not aware of any significant improvment in the ZL1's drivetrain (auto or manual trans) that would decrease the mechanical friction loss by 5-7 percent. In the OEM world this would be huge gains in performance and fuel economy for any drivetrain.
