I really don't believe the allocation bit is fair to the customer. My guess is that they did this to hold dealers back from being able to order hundreds of cars to stock, but there really should be a verification process that allows customers to order in a FIFO process. It is absolutly unfair for me to be able to pay $5000 over sticker, and get moved to the front of the line (in some cases above R6P folks). If orders had to be input into the system, and GM controlled the verification/allocation process better, I think we would be less frustrated.
The other thing is GM nor the Dealers expected this response, so it's possible that this would have been different had they expected it.
