I really don't believe the allocation bit is fair to the customer. My guess is that they did this to hold dealers back from being able to order hundreds of cars to stock, but there really should be a verification process that allows customers to order in a FIFO process. It is absolutly unfair for me to be able to pay $5000 over sticker, and get moved to the front of the line (in some cases above R6P folks). If orders had to be input into the system, and GM controlled the verification/allocation process better, I think we would be less frustrated.

The other thing is GM nor the Dealers expected this response, so it's possible that this would have been different had they expected it.

I've been reading about this "cash for clunkers". If the bill passes, I wonder how this would work with the order I've already placed for my new SIM V6?

Right now I'm driving a 2000 V6 Convertible Camaro, I'm not positive what it gets for gas mileage??

Just curious if any of you guys know?

May take on the R6P orders was that our cars would be built first, we would get the much sought after early vin numbers. As stated above I understand the allocations, dont agree with them but I understand. I just feel GM could figure out a better way, but then again they could not figure out a way out of bankrupcy either. I think it is a perfect example of a company getting too big and set in there ways, I can just imagine 10's of 1000's pencil pushers deciding on things they know nothing about.
I hope the government and union bosses dont screw it up even worse. I think the rank and file union workers are getting screwed by the union bosses and the managment.
Meanwhile, when we ordered we were told Feb production start, later moved to March, fine. But how are 7 or 8000 people ordering and getting their cars while R6P's are still waiting?
If the allocation was for 14000 cars and closed in Feb. where did all of these new allocations come from?

Ordered 2/21/09 and still at 1100. I ordered from a small dealer thoe so I know thats why. They only had allocation for 2 but they were one of the first to get there v6 car. They are giving me msrp and my college grad discount so I can't complain. But I would much rather be stuck at 3000 instead of 1100, at least I would feel like I really have a camaro on the way. Lol

i was one of the 5 allocations my dealer had,i was at 1100 on 5/6/09, then on 6/6/09 i was at 3300. how long from there do you guys think i'll be waiting???
