It's clear the GT500's disadvantage is in the tires. The 4 1/2 mph advantage the GT500 had over the SS is a much better indication of potential than the 0.1 sec e.t. would suggest. If the GT500 was running the same tires, it would have widened it's margin of victory significantly. That being said, the SS is impressive and I'd rather have it with or without a supercharger over the GT500, but that's JMHO.
