pretty impressive...with the mods that can be made to the SS that would still be less than the GT500..that is great!

HAHA.

The poor Blue Oval boys didn't like when we were comparing apples to apples (SS to GT), they wanted to compare apples and oranges (SS to GT500). The GT500 did beat the SS but only by 1/10th of a second.

But I'd rather spend $33K for 426HP and get beat by 1/10th second than $50K with 540HP.
Slap a Procharger on that SS.......OMG! 191HP more for $6,896, now that's a deal.

Very nice, we already knew what the outcome would be .. both cars are nice, but the Gt500 is a beast. I'd love to see the other info (60' time etc). Nice runs for both cars ..

Here is a more detailed test where the 500 ran 12.7 sec @ 118.1 mph*
*Traction limited by low ambient and track temperatures.

The true power is noted in the Trap speed of 118mph, which is CTS-V territory. High 11's with drag radials only is a given.

Thanks .. having come from an 04 cobra, I don't doubt the capabilities of the GT500 for sure

It's clear the GT500's disadvantage is in the tires. The 4 1/2 mph advantage the GT500 had over the SS is a much better indication of potential than the 0.1 sec e.t. would suggest. If the GT500 was running the same tires, it would have widened it's margin of victory significantly. That being said, the SS is impressive and I'd rather have it with or without a supercharger over the GT500, but that's JMHO.

I want to see a rematch with the GT500 equipped with sticker tires, that would make it more equal so you can REALLY compare the two car's performance. Another performance indication of the GT500 is how it was pulling away quickly from the Camaro once it obtained traction.
