edit: Obviously putting 91 in SS/ZL1 minimum and 87 in LS/LT minimum
There are also many other factors when fueling up like brand and region. There are some articles on Shell V-power vs BP ultimate, but gas is different based upon region as well.
(Not sure if this helps, just spitting out some knowledge)

At any driving......we see this while logging these cars for tuning. The amount of timing retart due to spark knock (detonation).

The owners manual for all, including the caddys and the buicks say 87, but that is for marketing only. You can run 87 just fine as the ECU/PCM pulls timing, but you wont ne running at optimine.

Your talking with a few of us here that tune, build, mod, and build/rebuild these motors constantly....and are the leaders in product R&D and I can attest, any motor with 11:1 cr or above runs better, delivers more power, and better fuel economy on 921-93 than 87.

True and accurate.

Agree 100%. Not many have done as much as far as understanding these engines in every aspect, and gretch has the cashed checks & receipts to prove it.
