Not sure what your winter is like, I am in Seattle area, but...
I got my Camaro last September and ran the Pirellis all winter. I probably did OK since they were new, and we didn't have any snow. If the roads get too bad, I always had the option of working from home, or taking my wife's Forrester.
I am going to be getting new tires really soon since I have 28k on them now. I don't think they will survive winter when it really kicks in around January. People around here tend to get the Continental DWS. I have had 3 dealerships recommend those to me as well. That's what I will be getting when the times comes. About $1100 installed.
