Most of these pads would need to be inches thick to absorb the low drone.
Take it from someone who laid a 5/8" thick dynamat pad (designed for soundproofing between floors in homes with home theaters) in his trunk to get rid of drone in my Subaru.
It didn't help, and set me back $150.
