In an effort to rule out installation error, please follow these steps.
With the car on the ground, full weight of the car on the wheels, remove the top nut and retaining plate.
Inspect the jam nut that holds the mount to the strut. Is there a gap between the nut and the mount? Please take a picture and post it.
