Yank that thing outta there and bring it to J-Rod or KP, or any one of the other reputable places in Houston.
I, like you, think the guys at HP are super nice. In fact, they're VERY close to my house, so it's my go-to spot for meetups, etc...
After hearing this story, though...I can say that they will not be getting a single bit of business from me.
