Question painted on stripe question

After i get my car i am going to get stripes pained on but something i have been asked is if i want them raised to be more like the decals or if i want them to be smooth like the rest of the paint. My question is what do you guys think? Which would look better? Which would be better in the long run or would it matter at all? And does anyone have any pictures that could compare the two?

Quality, painted on stripes should not be felt.

Smooth as glass....

Honestly, this is just my opinion, but if the paint shop is asking you that question I would probably look somewhere else. One of the cons about having the painted is making sure you get someone that knows what they are doing. You can't peel them off and start over. Spend the extra money so you won't have crooked stripes that have paint bleeding in them.

After the stripes are sprayed on the shop will be spraying clear over the entire hood and trunk and you won't feel the stripes at all. If you do you got a poor job.

Thanks for all the input everybody. This was coming from my dad's friend's friend who does stuff like this from what I was told but after everything you've all said I'm kinda worried about using him. =/. Any one know of anyone in the Tampa, Florida area that does a good job?
