Options for 2011 Camaro w/Boston

Hi all, first post here. New owner of a 2011 Camaro. White with hockey stripe, RS ... love this car. I have a pile of audio stuff taken out of my truck which I did the install, but from what I have been reading out here I wouldn't mind a little guidance as to what some of you seasoned Camaro owners would do in my situation. Here are the particulars..

It has the Boston sound package in it, but for the life of me I highly doubt there's a subwoofer, at least I can't tell. There is a center channel, which .... doesn't really sound that great.

Stuff I have from my previous install:

1. Pioneer Avic Z-3 (which will go in my wife's Tahoe since I dont want to switch out from stock in the Camaro ... so kind of didn't need to list this.

2. Rockford Fosgate 360.2
3. Diamond Audio 4 x 100 amp
4. JL Audio 500/1 Amp
5. 2 Image Design 10's

I do not have a box/boxes yet for the Camaro but .... I hate the thought of my golf clubs not fitting in there. LOL. I know ... I know. Sacrifice!

Anyway ... specific questions....

1. By adding amplification to the Boston stock speakers, are they "sufficient" to get a pretty good sound especially if a sub/subs/360.2 added?
2. I noticed the doors are seperates. Are they crossed over at all I wonder?
3. I have heard conflicting stories as to where you put the 360.2. Do you put it before the stock amp in the rear trunk or after, then from the 360.2 out to all the supporting amps, then to speakers? How would you stage this system if it were your car?
4. Would all this be easier by using one of ********s harnesses? For the life of me do they have one that would provide front, rear, sub, and center, or would you just use the front and rear and let the 360 kind of stage everything else?

I'm kind of at a loss as to what I would do and would love to hear some thoughts on the people who have done this before. I kind of giggle at the thought of not having to even take the radio out of the car to do all this, and that would be great, but I need a realistic idea of how to make this sound better than it does now ..... Thanks for the time all!

I am having the same problem. I want to upgrade my Boston setup, but I am having serious concerns with what to do with my trunk. I have a setup from my previous vehicle, but I do not want to use all those components. I would suggest you change out the separates. Boston makes good equipment but I would upgrade if money isn't an issue.

The ******** harness makes it very easy to install an amp, I was done in 10 min tops.
I only added an amp and two 10in kickers.
There is a post on here that talks about replacing the door speakers and what's involved. I don't think it was plug and play though.
I would also just disconnect the center speaker.

Disconnect the center channel, it'll make a difference from what I've read. In the Boston system, the rear 6x9 speakers are the woofers, with a midrange/tweeter on top. There are some pictures posted of the factory setup by ******** around here somewhere.

Using the ******** Harness, you could use your current equipment, bypass the Boston amp, and incorporate your subs, in ******** boxes if you didn't want to build, and have a pretty nice system. Of course, you might want to upgrade the speakers in the car, although, with a better amp, they will sound better anyway. Just be careful with the gain, lol!

I think I have made the decision to get away from the stock speakers also. My mode of thinking, which I may be off but maybe not, is the following:

1. Stock head unit.
2. New 6.5 seperates for the front.
3. New coax or seperates in the rear just for rear fill.
4. Already have a Diamond D6 600.4 Amp for the front and rear.
5. Already have a JL Audio 500/1 for sub(s).
6. Already have 2 Image Dynamics ID10v3's.
7. Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.2 to tune/process.

Only thing I need to buy now is seperates, speakers for rear fill, and a box that will work well with the new ride. I believe that's all I'll need and not have to switch out the radio, because right now I don't want to deal with the hassle of taking all that apart, etc, and to be honest I rarely used nav and DVD. So .... for a daily driver this should be good to go. I am thinking of taking pics throughout the build and kind of documenting it. Should be kind of a fun weekend project.
