I cleaned my 2011 Pace Car today for the first time and was very disappointed with the finish of the factory wheel. Are they cleared over and has anyone repolished theirs yet? If so what did you use? Will I remove the clear coat if the is any. All my other cars are 1967 or older so I need not worry about polished and clear coated.

If they are the factory polished wheel, they have a clear coat already on them, no polish required. This is why I chrome plated my wheels. You might consider it...

The factory polished wheels are not like an expensive 3-piece forged wheel polished. When my car showed up at the dealership I told them the wheels were not polished. They showed me the midnight silver wheels on another RS optioned Camaro and I saw the difference. I told them that I had polished HRE wheels on my Corvette and these factory polished were not even close to looking like those.

They are painted clear, though.

I did the same on my SW SS- The GM polished wheels are a big disappointment imo.

I thought the same. A thousand tiny scratches all over, and that was when they were new. Very disappointed. I wonder if you could buff them to a little better finish?

I like my polished 20s. Very nice finish, look great when they're clean

I took the clear coat off mine and polished them by hand myself. Much better than original, but a lot of work to keep them up. Have Modulare 3 piece wheels now, but i really like the stock 5 spoke, polished wheels.
