Responsibility, Apology, Community
:( I am sorry that I participated in the mess that has been shut down.
I feel responsible for all of the problems of the political forum. The community has lost that forum due to heated posts and grudges held outside of that forum. It might be good that we don't get it back because it may keep the grudges away, but I think that all of us who posted in the politics sub-forum need to come together and show that we aren't going to hold any grudges against one another. We are a strong community of Camaro enthusiasts. Some of us are simply pony car or muscle car lovers who represent other brands, makes, or types of vehicles. Others among us just like things that go fast, regardless of the make. We like power here. We like raw, unadulterated power, torque, and speed. We like classic cars that win races. We like one another, even when that one guy really believes that their different car is better than the car that shares its name with our forum. Let's come together and show site leadership that we're no different than we were before the politics section got closed. We're one community.

There's nothing to apolagize for. Political threads on forums always spell trouble. IMO. I saw it coming a mile away. It's not a specific persons fault, It's just that some people don't always like other's opinions and it always causes problems no matter where you are.

I'm not post-whoring. I'm making an important point here. I want to show Tran and the other site leadership that no animosity resulted from political discussion.

a lot of animosity resulted from political discussion tho... thats kinda why it got shut down. however, I think what you are meaning is that now that animosity can be quelled since the sub-forum is gone and we can continue on without the grudges and mudslinging being carried over from that forum. i hope...

No Apologies Necessary From Anyone.
No one who participated in that forum needs to apologize. Not one person. I will honestly say that everyone who did participate in that thread exceeded our expectations. We really thought we were gonna get the wild west. Which in very large majority we didn't have.
So thanks from me. And no apologies please. I can't begin to say how unnecessary apologies are. Now if you were one of those people who said they liked the prepro headlights..... you need to apologize...

Don't worry about it.
We put the forum there. You just posted in it, Blur ...and frankly, if you're at fault; then so is everyone else who posted in it at all. I for one, am actually proud of the way 99% of you handled yourselves in the politics threads. Proud is proud, but in this case, it's on a strange scale of "bad, worse, and worst" because that is the nature of politics. In light of that, we all feel (the mods and admins) that the forum will be a generally better place this way. I feel the need to reiterate, though...in order to keep the forums a hospitable place, any and all politics or religious threads will be deleted-on-sight unless they pertain directly to the Camaro. |
