K&N Aircharger andd Typhoon question

Looking to add a CAI and I'm leaning towards K&N. Is there any mechanical difference between the Aircharger and the Typhoon? Every site I go to it doesnt make mention of any difference and only thing I can see is one is black plastic it looks like and the other is chrome. Anything I'm missing?

That being said- does the chrome shield the engine heat as well as the plastic? I like the looks better of the chrome, but if it heats up, defeats the purpose...

I have the aircharger n its great. Aircharger provides more hp than the typhoon.

Typhoon looks awesome though if u want it for looks

Ahhhhhhh...its not just that one is chrome and the other is plastic. They are altogether different designs (see side by side pictures), and yes the Air charger develops slightly more HP, and has a lower cost.

If I wanted the most bang for the buck between the two, the air charger would be my choice...

Lol if you consider maybe 1 hp a mechanical difference....

I'd gladly have the one less hp to have it actually look good.
