Dealer scratched my rims....

While getting both of my front tires replaced(under warranty), the careless mechanic scratched the heck out of both of my front rims . So I took it back the next morning.....they actually tried to tell me I scratched both rims by hitting curbs!! Even if(and thats a big if) I did the damage, how the hell did I create concentric circles all the way around the rim? Sorry no pics..... But anyway, they are having both of my front rims refinished tomorrow. Anyone else have experience with rim refinishing? They are 20" brushed aluminum, not midnite silver.

jesus it's irritating to read about how every dealer puts the blame on the customer.

next time they touch your car, ask them to sign a walk-around sheet for any existing damage.. it's the only way to keep them partially honest.

HD camcorder FTW. Video every inch prior to leaving it with them, and let them watch you. And get "them" on vid watching you. They dont even bother with the "that was there when you drove in BS..." with me anymore. Just a roll of the eyes, and we will fix it.

I had this happen with a previous truck i owned..... I took great care in keeping the rims in mint condition only to have some idiot gouge all 4 rims with a tool to remove the wheel weights..... they didn't do anything for me to repair their damage.... pissed me off big time

Went to dealer yesterday to get a front end alignment. Dealer scraped the bottom on the front end putting the car on the machine. I saw them do it and when I asked them if they hit it they said no. I looked underneath and its scraped on both sides. Now I have to get it painted even though they are paying for it. Idiots

Sounds like you didnt throw big enough fit. You would really be uncomfortable around me if some crap like that would have happened to me. Tend to be real mean when stuff like that happens. The Marine Drill Instructor in me comes out real fast.

I got a flat a few weeks ago and the tire shop damaged my wheel with their machine. They hooked me up with some guy to get it fixed and he was never available to help me.
