Question Gas treatment

My Camaro is parked for the last month now. I was told to put some gas treatment even though I start it once a week. What is good to use?

A guy I work with swears by Sta-Bil. He uses it on his cars and his boat when they are going to sit for awhile.

Draining the tank is the surest solution.

Thumbs up

It depends on how LONG it's going to sit. Gasoline can "go bad" after a month or two. I've used Sta-Bil before when deploying for 3-5 months. Cars / Bikes have always started right up when I got home. Good stuff!

1 month storage, nothing to worry about. No need to add anything or drain the tank. Who drains after just a few months anyway? Years of storage, yes, drain-soak-fill, otherwise, waste of time)

Months go by in between drives for some of my cars and never used anything. When I had the FFR (Shelby replica), I hardly drove it (1900 miles in 3 years) and never put anything in the tank but started it up every few weeks to circulate the fuel. If you store for months without starting the car to circulate the gas, I would recommend using StaBil.

I was curious about this myself since all my cars I have stored have been carburated and had no o2 sensors to possibly mess up. I contacted chevy directly to ask them and they returned my email and called me and they recommended the use of sea foam over sta-bil.

I use stabil in the boat with no problems. Seafoam or stabil should be good.

I have 4 vehicles and some (including the SS) of them don't get driven for a couple of months at a time. Never had a problem.

I'm a big fan of Seafoam. Been using it in all sorts of vehicles for many years and never had a problem.

I'm right outside of Bristol and made the mistake of parking my Camaro last year. Only missed a few days of driving it so far this winter because of snow.
It was killing me to see it parked last year. Never again. Permagrin to the rescue. :5thgenvert:
