This is weird...

So I know a lot of you are trying to figure out why the heck the heated seats are not heated when you remotely start you car.. I took my Camaro into the dealer for an oil change, fuel door, LED sidemarker, and LED reverse light assemblies today. I also had a concern to why my seats will not warm my skinny ass once I get into the car when I remote start it from my phone 10 minutes before. The service guy at the dealer (who is pretty cool btw) told me the reason my remote heated seats don't function when I remotely start my car is because I don't have the "automatic climate control" on my Camaro. Uhh... I am pretty sure (I could be wrong) at least the 2LT and the 2SS should be able to start the car remotely and trigger the heated seats (if you have that option selected in the settings in your car). Apparently my 2011 2LT does not have the ability to do this because it does not have "auto climate control" (which I have never heard of). Can anybody shine some light on this? The cool service guy is looking further into this as we speak, but I would like to know what you all have found out and what you think of this.

I have a 2010 2LT and cannot get my seats to come on when I remote start. Not sure it can be done.

i might be wrong but, i think there has to be weight in the seat,,,,my explorer is the same way, the switch can be on but no heat until there is actually weight in the seat, otherwise seat stays cool.

He's misinformed. No such thing as "automatic climate control." If you have remote start your seats should start heating when you have it activated at remote start. I have noticed though that the seats heat much faster when there is weight in the seat. I've tested this by turning on the heated seats in both front seats with the passenger seat empty and the driver side warms up faster with me in it than the empty passenger seat.

Indeed there is. Apparently you still have to have this "auto climate control" feature in order for it to work.. I seriously know for a fact if you have the remote start function on your Camaro.. You should be able to use the heated seat function on remote start with no problem.

I didn't think there was such a thing. Bc I didn't hear of it when I looked over the specs of the car when I was interested in buying it. That's what the dealer guy told me though.. Which is weird...

I have a 1LT and when I remote start my car the heat nor AC comes out of the vents, it's just a fan pretty much, so maybe that's why it doesn't fully kick on until it starts.

To me.. It doesn't seem like anybody knows exactly how the remote heated seats work completely. I am determined to get to the bottom of this!

Anyone else feel like the seat warmers are almost too freaking hot to handle? I do like them for a quick bun roast but it definitely doesn't stay on for long or they fry my ass.

I gave mine the once-a-month in storage start n warm up today, the heated seats were nice to have since it's 20 freakin' degrees out. But, I don't even have the remote start - I'll be quiet now.

Okay, here's how I understand it.

First, you have to have the configuration menu set to start the seat heaters with remote start.

Second, the seat heaters will work when you remote start the car, but they will only warm up a little bit, just enough to keep them from being cold to the touch. You should expect this to take 4-5 minutes, maybe more, depending on how cold it is outside.

Third, once you insert and turn the key, the heaters will turn off. If you want them to continue heating, you must turn them back on after starting the car. You can verify this by watching the little blue seat heater lights flash on, then off as you turn the key on.

Finally, I believe none of this will work unless the outside air temperature is sensed to be at least 46 degrees (F) or lower outside. I think there's a reference to that temperature requirement here in the forums somewhere.

I vouche for this. Today i was playing with the settings and found that setting in the configuration. But i did notice that later when i remote started, the seats werent "HOT" like they normally get on the hottest setting. just a little bit warm.
