Backup rearview mirror

Has anyone installed this from crime stopper, or any other brand for that matter?

If it could get placed in an area where it doesnt "stand out" then that would be a great mod. my brother and father both have toyota tacomas with those rear view mirrors from the factory and they are awsome

Interesting, but if the camera looks straight back wouldn't that diminish the wide angle use of the mirror?

What does having a backup camera have to do with the mirror?

If it's like the ones that GM now offers in their SUV's they are awesome, the image is only displayed in the mirror when shifted into reverse. when shifted out of reverse you have full view of the mirror, and you can't even tell the camera window is there while it's out of reverse.

Check out the IVS Rearview Mirror/Camera system. It retains all of the factory controls on the mirror - OnStar, etc:

Looks nice but retails for 875.00. I can get the one in my op installed complete for 400.00. The camera does appear only in reverse and has a 4.5 inch screen. I also won't miss the onstar because I'm not a subscriber.

I installed this one last week and I love it.

You have to give up the On Star features and the auto dimming mirrors. The LH outside mirror gets it's auto dimming signal from the inside mirror.

I figured the easiest swap is to buy the one installed in the new Traverse. It would allow On Star to still work if the wiring will mate up.

Any significant difference between this and OEM from the Traverse?

Really?

You posted the picture and you don't see the screen built into the mirror? If the camera is looking straight back then you'll lose the functionality of using the mirror to see off to the side of the car.
Then again, you Jersey drivers don't really use mirrors, or turn signals for that matter. So I guess you don't need to see into the blind spots.

I believe that the screen is only visible when you are in reverse. The picture its shown with would make you think otherwise tho.

these are made by the same company that makes the GM OEM. Their headquarters is right down the street from me, and I've sold their stuff to several of my customers.
