Amount of sound deadner for trunk
For those who have done the sound deadner in their trunks, about how many square feet does it take to do the trunk, trunk lid and rear deck? Would appreciate any info.

Fat mat has a trunk kit that they sell. Thats what I used, had enough left over to deaden the rear seats.

I used the bulk pack of dynamat and had two sheets left over for the deck lid and the rear shelf where the 6X9's are.
Check out Amazon. That was the cheapest place I could find it. If you are going with a sheet product like dynamat or hushmat, invest in the roller. Your fingers will thank you for it.

Depending on how much you order the Second Skin Damplifier Pro is a good deal too. It is a bit thicker than Dynamat Pro and they usually have 10% off discounts which makes the price close to Dynamat on Amazon if you get enough. The roller is a must too.

The areas that seemed to "ring" the loudest were the areas that lined up with the insulation that the factory applied to the bottom of the trunk carpet. Most of those places sounded like knocking on the side of an aluminum trailer. The areas where the car had structural elements welded to them gave a much better "thud". It did a good job cutting down on road and tire noise with just that small amount. I'm definitely glad I did this. All in all, solid results for 5 sq ft and little effort. Eventually I'm going to sound deaden the whole car, but for now this did the trick.

I used Stinger Roadkill. It is thicker than Dynamat Extreme and cost slightly less. I have used both products and both are great, but the best bang for the buck is Stinger Roadkill. I have two bulk kits in my Camaro. One in the trunk and the other in rear deck and doors. You can really hear the difference.

I just completed a ******** install on my Camaro. I used Fat Mat that I bought off of Ebay. It made a huge improvement on the amount of road noise I had. I didn't go crazy, I did the majority but not the entire trunk and rear deck area. Here are a couple pictures. Worth it in my opinion. I only used about 30 - 35 square feet.

I bought the 50sq/ft bulk pack of rattletrap (80mil) FatMat for both doors and the trunk. you dont/wont need to cover 100% of available metal, just 25% - 30% will make a world of difference.

RattleTrap - 80mil
the idea is to add mass to the sheet metal to stop the resonance/vibrations. thicker material/more mass/better control
