Smile THE BIG F EXHAUST SOUND

I have a L99 and want to change the exhaust and put headers and free flow cats on. I have listened to all the videos and still don't like anything out there. But let me be HONEST with everyone. Please don't throw any stones but I want it to sound like, what should I say a, Mustang! Ok I said it but at least I'm telling the truth and do not tell me to buy a Ford product. I love Chevys but I like the sound of the Muskrat, they have a sound of their own. I would bet many of you like it to but where afraid to say. This is all in fun so don't go off half cocked. Now that you know what I wany can anyone help or get me close to that sound?
PEACE

A Camaro will NEVER sound like a Mustang ... They are running 32 valves vs. our 16 ... That's where the sound comes from ...

SlingShot nailed it. Ever heard a 03/04 Mach One with pretty much any aftermarket catback that was not pretty damn nice sounding?? Doubt it. Mix that with an off road x- pipe....Completely different engine setups make different sounds. Just this past weekend I installed LT's, Magnaflow catback exhaust, and an off road x-pipe and I still think my buddies Mach sounds nicer. With that being said, just take your time and do your research into what kind of sound you want, be it with headers and cats or no cats. And for god sakes don't do a simple muffler delete...it is loud but it sounds like crap, especially at high rpm's.

The old 5.0's ran 16 valves and sounded like heaven with aftermarket exhaust...

If a ford sounded like this, I would agree with you.
Don't go trying to make Americans sound like chinamen. GM V8's speak a language easy on the ears!

I have to agree, the Mustangs DO sound sweet! I don't think any setup on the Camaros will ever match the Mustang sound, however, there are many Camaro setups that sound just as good but in a different way! Just do your research and try to listen to as many setups IN PERSON as you can and when you finally pick the right one, you'll forget all about the Mustang sound every time you fire up your beast! I know I do!

agreed, even headers w/cats, perf. exhaust and a tune will give you the sound you want, once you get in your own car with them and run through the gears to red line you wont think anything else could sound as good !

MBRP or Borla Atak. Go to YouTube and check out "Torq Camaro (MBRP)" or search for "2010 Camaro SS Borla Atak".

I have MBRP and nobody elses Camaro I've seen even comes close to sounding as good. The only other ones I like are Borla Atak, and the other is Loudmouth.
