Gas Price Tune

Unbelievable with these gas prices and it's only going to get worse. I got my tax refund back and I was about to get a catback exhaust and CAI plus a tune. Now I am wondering if a tune can be done for D and make it improve gas mileage by doing whatever and then make S mode badass. Or I may just by a daily beater and keep my Camaro for weekends.

CAI and tune will improve MPG and gain HP

^^^ this, BUTTTT also get a beater for better gas mileage. You bought an SS, why? To go fast and look good doing it, not for economy driving.

efficiency works both ways. better exhaust and better breathing creates better HP but also can increase MPG. I would suspect if you cutome tune for 89, it is the cheapest, go leaner, bring down WOT and reduce advance you can help improve MPG.

I love my car but at the same time looking for options. I figured doing those things would decrease my gas mileage. Thanks for the advice.

i'd buy a beater lol... i do agree that gas prices are at an alltime high now... As much as it is fun to mod the car, I think a real gas saving car would save you more money along the way. I catch myself filling up twice as much these days, with the prices so high, it's pretty bs lol.

Instead of spending thousands buying a whole car just to save on gas......imo, save for the gas to fuel the Camaro.

There are rare exceptions where buying another car just for gas makes economical sense....
