My Camaro needs more low end power

My friend's Challanger SRT8 has alot more wheel breaking power in the low end than my 2ss rs Camaro Convertible. What can you do to increase the low end power?

Right now im guessing the weight of the vert is killing your performance a bit. But anyways theres many options that will allow you to smoke your friend

Generally speaking, most mods will add more peak horsepower and raise your power band if anything. Low end grunt is more for trucks but if you really want to add some power down low go with a Magnacharger. Can't beat that for low end power. Unless he has a 392 SRT8 he shouldn't be any faster then you...So you can let him shred his tires while you beat him at the track all day. Also, a bigger gear in the back is a nice option for some down low grunt.

Drop a set of 4.10's in it. That'll wake it up.

+1 - gears !!!

And I agree with the OP. At 4,100 lbs going down the road, more low end torque is needed. The quest for peak HP dominates here. Thats fine for drag racers or bench racers that want bragging rights.

Reality for my application as a street driven car would be mo' TQ to get this heavy bitch rolling.

Remove the torque management parameters in your PCM. Say goodbye to your drivetrain warranty though....

Your 'vert is 200-300 pounds heavier than a coupe. Your M6 has high gearing. You need 30 more horses, lower gearing, or 200 pounds less weight. An auto SS coupe will hang with a stock SRT8, even the 392. Gearing and traction.

I was actually wondering the same thing!!

I was actually wondering this exact same question this morning..
I got on it getting onto the highway (about 3/4 mile on ramp) & am amazed at how much oomph these cars have from 4k RPM's & up..
But is there a way to wake this beast up a little earlier..??
Looks like the Maggie will do it for sure.. & I saw gears.. but I would hate to lose any of my MPG's in the process... I don't race (track or strip) & use my car for 99% business.. but would still like to wake it up a little earlier!!!

chase, i never understood how this worked...did rsearch but all i could find was that top end power would be hurt, low end would be helped.

can you add anything to that? im more of a 0-60 type of guy anyway. top speed doesnt intrest me too much, seeing as theres no where to use it in LA.
