I was wondering if there was anyway I can have the inner tail lights off while driving but on when braking or using turn signal. The putter lights would remain normal. Is there anyway to disconnect a runtime wire but leave turn signal wire and braking wire intact or something similar. Thanks

Now this suggestion isn't from knowing schematics of the car or anything, just taking an educated guess. I just know that each brake light bulb is a double filament bulb since they brake and signal simultaneously. So they should have at least three wires going into each of them. One ground wire and two positive wires (or four wires if there's two grounds). Since one positive wire powers one filament, I would assume if you remove the wire powering the running light filament, the light would just come on when you brake or signal and not when driving. Unless you have a wiring diagram to know which wire is the one you want, use a tester or a meter. If you don't have one, there's always trial and error. Just know that if the wires can't be simply disconnected/reconnected and you have to cut, make sure you cut at a decent length so that you have enough wire to splice it back together if you make a mistake.

That is what I had assumed I have done something similar for front indicators before and it was simply cut the run time wire and that's it. Ill trial and error it ... unless someone here knows what to do but thanks

I believe, if you disconnect the yellow/black wire, that the tail light goes off. The purple one is for the turn/brake signal.
The German guys have done something similar to mine, to get a red inner light/brake and outer amber (LED) turn signal. And now I'm going nuts trying to reverse the thing as we can have the US system in Belgium... but they seem to have "un-doubled" something in the relays too... |

You might also try installing a 3156 bulb. It will be a single filament bulb and if memory serves me right, you can orient it in the socket to either come on while braking or strictly act as running lights.

You could also try just covering one of the contact points on the stock bulb with electrical tape or something

Why would you want to do that?
