They want my car to be a TV star.

I got some random PM about a month ago stating that they needed cars for an upcomming TV trailer for a show that was going to pit the Camaro vs Mustangs vs Chargers/Challengers. So I filled out the info not fulling knowing what the deal was and recieved this email today:

Congratulations you and your car have been selected to attend and be filmed in the Big3Battle Trailer shoot on Saturday July, 23rd 2011 in Ventura California. To follow are some rules that you must agree to by simply replying to this email - instructions will follow below.

This Trailer will be co-produced by Michael Noval who won 4 Emmys for producing The Amazing Race on CBS. The trailer will cover our upcoming Car Show, Reality TV show and be released by all the attending Manufactures and Big3Battle.

All those attending will be captured on film but we must make you aware of some rules for this Trailer Shoot and have you agree to them prior to moving forward.

Rules for Big3Battle Trailer Shoot.

Product Representation
Although your car may currently have multiple modifications we have certain Manufacturers and Vendors that have paid to participate in our Trailer Shoot. Because of this we will not be highlighting these other non-partnering companies and their products.

Logo/ Brand Display
Hats, shirts and vehicle stickers with branding or logos which represent non-supporting Manufactures, Vendors, Car Clubs or Forums etc. will also not be allowed to be displayed on person or vehicle during this shoot. You will be supplied with shirts and/ or hats from partnering companies that you will also be allowed to keep after this Trailer.

Big3Battle will interview all of those attending and actually obtain more footage than needed. Once this footage is combined in post production we will create one or more Trailers to allow for the most exposure the attendees and the cars.

To confirm you have read the rules above, that you agree to those terms and that you will be attending this Trailer Shoot please respond to this email with the words - YES and your typed name into the body of the responding email.

We will follow up shortly with more information and directions to the hosting Manufacturer in Ventura, California as well as the start time for this event

Again congratulations from Big3Battle, we look forward to seeing you and your Ride at this event!

Awesome, as long as they do not abuse it. A lot of times these companies do not care about the cars.

I love the idea but it also seems strange that they are choosing heavily modded car(s). If you are choosing heavily modded cars, it is much less about the manufacturer than it is about the owner, chosen mods, and money spent. So why the name????

Assuming it checks out to be legitimate, it is a great opportunity. You should talk to Jannetty about becoming a sponser. You could probably get them to beaf up your car......even more.....and maybe free of charge. It would be great exposure for them and a great opportunity for you to get over 1000 RWHP.

Either way, good luck and keep us updated.

They are supposed to be. I just recieved an email back stating that they would prefer to use Cali cars but if I wanted I could be in it if "I" get my car to California. Which, if I actually cared enough, wouldn't be a big deal, but I don't. So with that being said I'll have the opportunity to be in it when the show comes to the East Coast. Time will tell even if there is a show.

The concept of the show is to showcase the new era of muscle cars and what they can do. Yes, the want heavily modded but also daily drivers. While I don't daily drive my car I just took it on a 450 mile roundtrip to Cape Cod, averaging 19 mpg, while it just ran a 10.2 @ 135 the day before. All I did was swap out the tires.

Congrats on this & hope it works out for you. I was asked with two of my Nokturnal Car Club members (two from CA) but we were not allowed to display are car club logo on vehicles. So we turn them down, even when we were offer top prime coverage & appearance fee. I understand their request, but correct exposure for myself & club is more important then just any exposure..

At some point in my distant past, I worked in the motion picture industry with an emphasis on character vehicles/ stunt vehicles/ etc. Just be sure that the production is carrying enough insurance to cover any loss (including complete, as well as liabilities... say $2 million) and that you are named as additional insured. If this is a legitimate production it is standard procedure and they shouldn't be surprised by the request.

And yes... I used to beat the living crap out of cars that we sourced from the general public, but we always returned them better than we got 'em, even if it meant complete paint and body make-overs, whatever it took.

I learned from the best, Rick LeFevour. Guy has trashed more cars than I care to dream about, and been in more movies... Including (famously) crashing a handful of Lamborghini Murcielagos for Batman: Dark Night (makes me want to cry)

I'd be curious to know if they were footing the bill. Plus are you going to drive you camaro to Cali? That's a lot of miles and time taking you away from your daily life.

Is it cool they picked you? Hell yah. Congrats. But you are right when you say alot of questions still need to be answered....
