I searched and could not find an install thread for the Doug Thorley Shorty Headers how are these supposed to stay on if they are not welded? Do they need to be welded? I thought these were direct bolt on any help is appreciated.

Down pipes need to be cut to a certain length and welded to the headers. Shop did mine for 300.

Don't beat yourself up Mr. Cannon, all the shorty's require some cutting and welding. On the JBA's you also cut the midpipe and weld on a flange that is then secured to the new header with a "v-clamp" without a gasket.
Suffice it to say its an unorthodox and inadequate device that is not duplicated on the JBA's V8 shorty headers and they often leak. IMHO if you want shorty's, you're better off with the DT's. |

Sorry I didn't see this sooner!!
Looks like the fellas hit this pretty well however.....and thank you for doing so all! We're still pumping these out and they seem to have the best feedback of ALL headers that we sell for ALL of our platforms. They simply do what they advertise to and look good doing it! Thank you again and please PM or email me direct if you need specific help or have questions! Ivan |
